SEE YOU LATER
The day started out at my aunt's funeral. It was a beautiful service. Lots of friends and family showed up including my friend Trinity. That meant a lot. The service was in Spanish. My mother gave a eulogy and so did my aunt (mother's sister). I gave the english eulogy:

"I'm Tito, Alba's nephew. Me, my brother Erik and my sister Karla (who really wanted to be here but couldn't) had crazy parents. That being said, we never went hungry. We were never cold and we were never neglected. That's because my mother had a lot of help. That help was Alba. Mami, I don't know what you mean by saying she was only "pretend" mean? I WAS MORE AFRAID OF HER THAN I WAS OF YOU!! A lot of very beautiful and profound things have been said today about Alba. Thank you all for that but my most cherished memories are the simple ones: 10AM to 11AM was The Price is Right 11AM TO 12NOON was As The World Turns We would watch those shows during the summers in the early 80's when Alba was taking care of us and we spent the rest of the afternoon discussing what happened on As The WOrld Turns while we played Monopoly or jacks on the dining room table. We also used to yell at the screen when someone would bid $500 on the set of tennis rackets during the Price is Right! I know you all may think that's silly but that's what it was about for my brother, sister and myself. So I'm not going to say'goodbye' but rather, 'See you later!"
Untitled

After the funeral we all went to an Asian seafood buffet in Glendale called "Vegas Seafood". Everything was wonderful except for the traffic back to Fullerton. It took us 2 hours to get back home. I was freaking out because I was running late for Morrissey.

THE SUITE LIFE I was hosting the suite tonight for work and i had to be there early. I was hoping on getting a fistful of tickets for this show but our Mexican clients came out of the woodwork for this show at the last minute. I really hoping on giving the tickets to my friends but those stupid clients fucked everything up! I ended up taking my friend Trish because she's great, she bought me a ticket to the Specials this month and she invited me to a Pretenders fans meet up last weekend in Pasadena. I didn't go but it was still cool that she invited me! We split from Fullerton and traffic to downtown SUCKED!!! We finally made it to the Staples Center and found cheap parking. We missed Kristin Young's set but who cares. We got to the Suite and so far we were the only ones there. We went out and had a cigarette. Growlr was blowing up!!!

Untitled

Lots of Tacobilly Mexicans everywhere! It's common knowledge that Morrissey's fan base are Latinos but DAMN!! I think the only white people here were on the stage!!! The streets of Montebello must have been empty!! We went back to the suite and two clients showed up. I played host and told them were everything was. They were nice.

PATTI SMITH
For the longest time I was not a Patti Smith fan. As a teenager I resented this woman for trying to intellectualize rock and roll. I was all, "What is this book shit?!" The owner of the record store where I used to work was a huge Patti Smith fan so in 1997 when she played at the Hollywood Athletic Club I got tickets from my friend at Goldenvoice and took him. After that amazing show I finally got it! Patti was amazing that night and I got to meet Lenny Kaye. He was such a great guy. So I became some what of a fan. I'm still not a huge fan but I love "EASTER" ! And I also love her book "Just Kids". I was pumped to see her also because I think it's so cool that she's on this bill.

SETLIST (not in order. not complete.)
Dancing Barefoot
Fuji-san
Ghost Dance
Beneath the Southern Cross
We Three
Pissing in the River
People Have the Power

Patti told the audience that today is Dr. Seuss' birth and that it was also her wedding anniversary. I yelled out "FRED SONIC SMITH!!! FRED SONIC SMITH!!!" and she dedicated this song to Fred Smith. Because the Night

I know this song is a bit played out but it still is one of my favorite songs. I cried.
Gloria

That's Patti Smith! #DancingBarefoot

Patti was amazing! Even though she played an abbreviated set to a half full arena it translated and it was powerful. This was testimonial, a call to action, a ceremony! Her voice sounds the same after all these years. I was a little high from this unlikely emotional journey. Trish and I were, "WOAH! What just happened!!!" I was hoping she would do Rock and Roll Nigger just so I can yell "NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER!" In front of my clients!

ZACK
After Patti's set some dude in the suite next door peaked over the glass and introduced himself to us. He was drunk as fuck! He was blabbering to us about how drunk he was and if we wanted more beer. He kept babbling so I got up and moved to the other side of the suite. He got the picture and left us alone. GOOD! We had another smoke outside. When we came back the suite was filled with more clients. There were a couple of clients that I know and the rest were these bitches who looked like Bananarama but not on purpose. They were chatty for a while during the show but they were behaved for the majority of the show.

PRE MORRISSEY
Videos were playing of the big screen before the show. AWESOME shit like Shocking Blue, Sparks, The New York Dolls, Francoise Hardy and the Small Faces. He's been doing this for a few years now but it was still cool and it got me even more pumped for the show. Untitled

MORRISSEY 2013
SETLIST:

Shoplifters Of The World Unite
AAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!! Trish and I screamed and started slow dancing.
Irish Blood, English Heart
Alma Matters
You Have Killed Me
You're The One For Me, Fatty

Singing along! I kept yelling OUIJA BOARD! After each song!
Action Is My Middle Name
That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!

Morrissey told the audience that the rhinoceros is nearly extinct because of Beyonce's shoes and handbag. We all cheered! FUck her!! Then he went into:

Meat Is Murder
A film was shown entitled "Meet your Meat". It showed the horrible conditions of slaughter houses. The images show were very graphic but things like this need to be shown. I eat meat but I do feel guilt and I know where the meat comes from. It's just I love pork so much. That being said I am closer to going veggie.
Ouija Board, Ouija Board AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!
November Spawned A Monster
To Give (The Reason I Live)
How Soon Is Now?
Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want
Everyday Is Like Sunday
Let Me Kiss You

I cried!
First Of The Gang To Die

Encore:

The Boy With The Thorn In His Side That's Morrissey.

This was such an amazing show. Good selection of Smiths songs.  Morrissey redeemed himself tonight. Definitely the best time I've seen him. I place no expectations on Morrissey shows because you never know what you're going to get or if he'll even show up but tonight, WOW!!!! I sang, I cried, I danced. I might just go on a limb here and say that tonight was one of the best shows I've ever been to. Trish and I sang "WILL THEY EV, WILL THEY EVER BELIEVE ME" non stop on the way home.

Heavy Metal Memories

Conversations at the wake.

Eduardo (mierda kid): I remember peeking into your room and seeing you, your brother and all your friends hanging out and being freaked out by all the Iron Maiden posters on your wall and on the ceiling.

ME (laughing): WOW! That's so cool because I remember being really young and peeking into Stanley's room (pointing at my older cousin) and being freaked the fuck out by his KISS posters!!

I think it's so cool that my cousin's name is STANLEY! and that he's still a KISS freak!

My aunt Alba

I still laugh just thinking about this conversation.

ME (age 9): What are they going to name the baby?
Alba: Probably mierda.

GUEST BEDROOM:

Untitled

Big Eyed orphans by Margaret Keane (credited to Walter Keane) I love KEANE EYES prints! I have a few but I wish I had more. They are getting more and more expensive. I got this one at a vintage shop for $40. I hung this up in my room and I couldn't sleep because these lonely kids eyes kept following me with this look of sadness in there eyes. I solved that problem by leaving a plate of food by the print. The children are now happy and they let me sleep.

Untitled

Adventureland by SHAG for Disneyland's 50th Anniversary.

Untitled

The Tiki Room by SHAG for the 35th Anniversary of Disneyland's Tiki Room series. I like to think of this as me without my glasses in the Tiki Room. I love the Tiki Room! I'm happy I found these bamboo frames for these at Aron Brothers on sale!!! They go perfect with these two prints.
